NY2CA Gallery is thrilled to present ‘Threads in Motion: Hands-On Textile Art Experience with Bodil Fox’ and members of the Treadles to Threads Spinners Guild, an engaging and interactive event that invites art enthusiasts and curious minds alike to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of textile arts. Taking place on September 7, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, this unique experience will bring the gallery to life with the vibrant energy of spinning, knitting, and weaving in action. Demonstrations will take place inside the gallery and our lovely courtyard.
Attendees will have the rare opportunity to view the techniques and methods behind Bodil Fox’s captivating textile artwork. Guided by the artisans, participants can learn about the materials and processes that define these innovative approaches to textile art. The event will also feature special performances by members of The Benicia Chorus at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm, adding a melodic layer to the creative buzz with spinning and weaving songs that resonate with the rhythm of the crafts.
‘Threads in Motion’ is part of the ongoing exhibition ‘An Uncommon Thread: Bodil Fox – Solo Show’, which runs through September 29, 2024. This captivating solo exhibition showcases the extraordinary works of Bodil Fox, whose pieces weave together an uncommon thread of artistry and vision.
