Speaker Series: Benicia Budget Challenges with Sarah Shawky

Join Carquinez Village and Deputy City Manager Sarah Shawky for her presentation on the 2024 Benicia Resiliency Plan; a plan to resolve the city’s financial challenges and the path ahead. There will be a Q&A at the end of the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.

Sarah Shawky has been with the City for over 5 years. Before Benicia, she worked in the nonprofit sector, supporting international development projects focused on food security and market access across West Africa. She has over 10 years’ experience in public, private, and non-governmental sectors. Sarah holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from UC Davis. Sarah has a love for travel, having been to 23 countries, 12 of which are in Africa. In her spare time, she enjoys spending with her husband and nieces.
