Two public health crises, one old and one new, have collided into a devastating pandemic tandem.  The historic and systematic racism that has plagued the United States now fuels the unrelenting ravages of COVID-19 health disparities and of police violence, both of which disproportionately impact Black Indigenous and Other People of Color.

Keynote Speaker RADM Erica Schwartz, Deputy Surgeon General, will kick-off this year’s series with a discussion of strategies to address the disproportionate physical and mental burden of COVID-19 on Black, Indigenous and other People of Color of color in the United States.

Dr. Vin Gupta will follow with a discussion of the local and global impacts of COVID-19 on the health of the most vulnerable members of society.
