Visions of the Wild – Changing Landscapes

Napa River Cruise – SOLD OUT (1:00 pm-4:00 pm)
During this scenic cruise of the Napa River we will look at the influence of urban, industrial and agricultural landscapes on the health of the San Francisco Estuary ecosystem.  Along the way we will sample estuarine water quality and observe microscopic marine life.

The Fish Line (2:00 pm-3:30 pm)
Family Friendly, easy one-mile, interactive walk from River Park to the plaza between Vallejo City Hall and the JKF Library; Saturday September 9, 2017; 2:00 to 3:30 pm.

Run4Salmon – Welcoming Ceremony (4:00 pm-8:00 pm)
2nd annual welcoming the salmon home ceremony by the Winnemem Wintu tribe in Ohlone territory.

Visions of the Wild is a festival to that connects nature, culture and community. The festival brings together all segments of the region, and in particular, the spheres of conservation and art.

Most of the festival occurs within a few blocks around Virginia, Marin and Georgia Streets in downtown Vallejo, California. The main programs (films and speakers) will be presented in the historic Empress Theatre. Check out the festival’s website for specific event locations:

All events, are FREE and open to everyone on a first come, first served basis, with the exception of the Saturday and Sunday’s River Cruises.

The festival features films, speakers, art shows, field trips, art shows, and cruises up the Napa River and Carquinez Strait. Activities will be available for people of all ages. A detailed schedule of events is available at
