Vallejo Black Empowerment Think Tank – Mardi Gras theme Fundraiser


The Artiszen Art & Cultural Center partner with 2ND Screen Global Con  and VBETT – Vallejo Black Empowerment Think Tank for an exclusive VIP Mardi Gras theme Reception Fundraiser, officially kicking off the annual start of  Vallejo’s Family Reunion Weekend,  Aug 8th & 9th 2014,  city-wide.

Special performance by the OGV Band, Hollywood, Grammy Award winning, bassist Ron Perry, drummer, Kevin Blackmon ( Buddy Miles, Susan Tedeschi, John Lee Hooker Bands ), Ron Watson, guitar, ( James Brown,  Sylvester ),  Carl Bracy, vocalist and Rob Reason, keyboards. The world renowned musicians are all  home – grown Vallejo natives.

Reuniting for the first time in years for VBETT’s  Artiszen Cultural Arts Center, Vallejo Community Unity Fundraiser, are San Francisco Bay Area Black Radio giants Marvin Robinson, Diane Blackmon, Johnny Morris and Barry Pope. They will be among the Celebrity Guests attending the Mardi Gras Memories Walk, VIP Reception Fundraiser, marking the  official kick off of – Family Reunion Weekend in the city of Vallejo.

“It’s great to reunite with my mentors and life long dear friends again, these great men sometimes unsung heroes, did a lot for Black music and to educate, entertain and enlighten our Bay Area communities through radio for decades.  It’s  an honor and a privilege to call them my BFF’s” states Diane Blackmon Bailey, founder, of the Black University Radio Network ( 50+ USA Markets – Global ), 2ND Screen Global Con and Vallejo Black Empowerment Think Tank ( VBETT ).

Marvin Robinson currently produces and hosts BayView Hunter Points, District 13, Radio Show,  Sundays on KBLX FM,  one of only a few Black Radio Stations left in the country.

Invited  VIP guests include, KTVU TV Anchor, Dave Clark, Lee Bailey EUR Web,  Vallejo Mayor, Osby Davis, Congressman Mike Thompson, Senator Lois Wolk, LaMarr Blackmon, Black University Radio Network, the OGV Band and other surprise celebrity guests.
