The Perilous Adventures of MaryJane and Margaret Jean: A Reading by MaryJane Etchegaray-Szalan

Maryjane Etchegaray-szalan

Vallejo Bookstore presents Bay Area author and painter MaryJane Etchegaray-Szalan reading excerpts and signing copies of her recent books The Perilous Adventures of MaryJane and Margaret Jean, Three Incredible Sisters, and Case Files of the Well-Oiled Detective Agency.  This event is free to the public.

MaryJane Etchegaray-Szalan is a sixth- generation Californian born in the San Joaquin Valley.  She has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1958.  After amusing her children with the tales of mischief she and their aunt got into, they talked her into writing them down. The Perilous Adventures of Mary Jane and Margaret Jean, for example, features some of these stories with titles life “Fire! or Don’t Try This at Home” and “Kicking the Habit, or Karma,” along with her illustrations to accompany the text.

In addition, Ms. Etchegaray-Szalan’s paintings from her series “A Fond Farewell to Rar and Opal” are currently on display and for sale through January, along with the above-mentioned books, at Vallejo Bookstore.
