Mare Island Naval Shipyard Restoration Advisory Board

Restoration Advisory Board  meetings are held on the last Thursday of every other month.

The Mare Island RAB was established in 1994 to involve the local community in the environmental cleanup decision-making process. The RAB is an advisory body designated to act as a focal point for exchanging information and concerns between the Navy and the local community regarding environmental issues. The RAB is intended to bring together community members who reflect the diverse interests within the local community. The RAB consists primarily of community members, but also includes representatives from the Navy, U.S. and California Environmental Protection Agencies, City of Vallejo staff, and environmental interest groups. This structuring of the RAB allows early and continued two-way flow of information, concerns, values, and needs between the affected community and the Navy and regulatory agencies.

Community members interested in finding out more about the RAB are encouraged to attend current meetings of the Mare Island RAB at the Mare Island Conference Center in Vallejo. At each meeting, you will hear an update on the status of base cleanup activities and selected presentations on current projects. Go to the Navy website to download an application.
