Guided Nature Hike

Lynch Canyon

Join a guided hike along the trails at Lynch Canyon. Enjoy the outdoors while looking for wildlife, wildflowers and whatever else nature has to offer here. All ages are welcome but they must be prepared for a moderate pace covering up to 4 – 5 miles with occasional stops to enjoy the wildlife, wildflowers, and views. The route includes rugged, steep, and possibly slippery hills with rough, uneven ground. The ridges can be windy. This is a working ranch where free-range cattle roam as they please. There is no drinking water. There is one bathroom, located in the parking lot. In order to protect wildlife, cattle, and rare plants—and for your pet’s safety—dogs are not allowed. Maintain a safe distance from cattle and wildlife, and be aware that this is tick, mountain lion, and potentially rattlesnake country. Bring $6 cash for parking, a backpack with plenty of water and snacks. Wear boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes that grip well, long, sturdy pants and layered clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and protection from the elements (sun, wind, fog, rain) – a brimmed hat is recommended for sunny days. Also recommended: Hiking sticks, bug repellent, binoculars, and/or camera. Meet your guide in the Lynch Canyon parking lot at 9am. Heavy rain or red flag fire warning cancels hike. Moderate rain, strong wind, or high temperatures may shorten hike.

Parking Fee: $6
