Art is a respected form of cultural expression that uplifts and enhances our lives.
The Vallejo Waterfront Artists is committed to providing local artists with venues in which to display, promote and sell their artwork; and in doing so to elevate the ambiance of Vallejo, to enrich the lives of Vallejo residents and visitors and to contribute to the economic life and positive perspective of the city based on the premise that Art is a respected form of cultural expression that uplifts and enhances our lives. The extended goal is to network with and publicly promote the greater community of local artists and art related events and establishments.
We will primarily focus on promoting Vallejo and Solano county artists. A small number of guest artists from the surrounding area may also be considered. Artists will be screened for quality of work and professional presentation. The work to be displayed must be original and be made exclusively by the presenting artist.
Projects:
We will begin with a venue at the Vallejo Ferry, similar to the San Francisco Street Artists Program. Here is a diagram of the ferry grounds and a proposed layout (pdf).
While we are working on logistics and permitting with the City of Vallejo, we’ve made arrangements to set up on the lawns of Panama Red Cafe, and Vic’s Wheel House. Special thanks to Jay of Panama Red for getting us started.
Vallejo Waterfront Artists is an all volunteer organization and a fully sponsored project of the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. You can help us cover the costs of our liability insurance, city permit fees, and other operating expenses by donating. Every small contribution counts.
